Alabama artist, Troy Crisswell led the workshop here @ Dogwood Gallery. The event was well attended by some very talented local artists. Troy's still-life approach focused on reflective lighting as well as creating atmosphere with watercolor washes used as background. Thanks to all involved. Below is " Troy in Blue Hat " & " Girl with Cat ". click the images for a close up.

Frank Zappa frame
I built this custom frame for artist, David Bollt. The drawing / air-brush was done by a colleague of his. I think Frank Zappa would be proud of the tribute. Frame something cool.

shadowboxes
i recently framed 3 signed football jerseys. i used a 1.5" width roma moulding on each. either charcoal or brown w/ a grain finish. this profile has a rabbet depth of 2". this allows the walls of the frame to be lined w/ foamcore & matboard which hold the glass forward creating a 3-D box. the jerseys were secured w/ attach-ez. everything is acid-free & reversible. click the images for a close up.
