Allison J. Smith

American Beauty

Atlanta artist, Allison J. Smith, has been inspired by her time in the South. She expresses emotional states through her abstract landscapes. American Beauty is a fine example of her "focus on color and subtle texture" that brings indoors the "calm contemplation experienced in nature".

Dana Johnson - Plein Air Paintings

Therapy, oil on canvas panel, 11"x14"

Plein Air, Red Barn, 10"x8", Sold

To draw out an emotional response through "scenes that are full of light and mood" is artist Dana Johnson's goal. She captures these scenes in the truest sense by painting on location.

Dale Niles - Photography

Every Wednesday

This sepia toned photograph is one of Niles' many gorgeous pieces. She captures the beauty in every day life through light, tones, objects, and people. Dale gives us a glimpse into the ritual this couple shares every Wednesday. Be sure to click on the image for a closer look.

Andrew Bones - Sculpture

"Dia De Los Muertos" - Hand painted hydrocal (height around 5 inches)
"Owl" - Caste bronze (height around 4 inches)
Both sculptures, one more traditional and the other more unique, by Andrew Bones of Union City. They certainly elicit strong reactions from me. A little creepy, but amazing works nonetheless! What are your reactions??

Yun Liu - Nature Manifested

Blue & Birds
oil and linseed on board

Meditation #2
oil and linseed on board

Yun Liu creates her artwork based on the concept that nature is "manifested in all aspects of life." These two pieces are fine examples of how you can meditate on her paintings just as you would meditate in nature. I love the powerful colors!

Jane Whitehurst - Abstract Expressionist

Black & Tan
Oil on Canvas
You've seen her work here before, but this is another great piece by Jane Whitehurst. There are more of her intriguing pieces here at Dogwood Gallery & Framer. What can you explore in these abstract objects?
