Jane Whitehurst - Abstract Expressionist

Black & Tan
Oil on Canvas
You've seen her work here before, but this is another great piece by Jane Whitehurst. There are more of her intriguing pieces here at Dogwood Gallery & Framer. What can you explore in these abstract objects?

Green Abstract by Jane Whitehurst

I continue to find new images in this large painting by artist, Jane Whitehurst.
( 48" x 48", oil on canvas ) Each symbol is subtly revealed in tones of green. ( dresses, flower pots, figures, houses & trees ) I recently discovered the Tin Man's face from the Wizard of Oz in the lower right corner. Please click the image for a closer look.

out with the old, in with the new

black rain by jane whitehurst, oil on canvas

theme of destruction & renewal by scott silcox, oil on canvas

deception by allison j. smith, oil on canvas

as it is my last day as dogwood gallery's summer intern i thought i would show some of my personal favorites from the gallery. I'm intrigued by the mysterious and abstract compositions of jane whitehurst, scott silcox, and allison j. smith, and admire their ability to be so loose with their application of paint.

alas, i digress, and pass the torch on to the new intern who will be filling my postion as i return for one more year of college.

farewell!
