Charles Nivens uses the palette knife as his tool of choice so he can sculpt the paint into his vision of an urban scene or landscape. What strikes me in his fine works are not only the brush and knife strokes but the use of vibrant color. In his own words, Chalres Nivens is a "creator and in interpreter of light, form, movement, and lots of color."

Matty Porter, avid quilter, found her passion in working with textiles. Particularly, she likes the use of batiks - fabrics dyed through the use of wax. This technique results in fabric printed in bright shades of many colors. Visionary artist, Mick Brandenberger, approaches his paintings with a curvilinear perspective as if personally stepping into the imagined worlds he creates. But he doesn't leave the viewer behind as he draws you in with his exotic wonderlands that defy any particular time and space.

American Beauty

Atlanta artist, Allison J. Smith, has been inspired by her time in the South. She expresses emotional states through her abstract landscapes. American Beauty is a fine example of her "focus on color and subtle texture" that brings indoors the "calm contemplation experienced in nature".
