it is important for painters to create & maintain their own style. often, artists do not know what their style is, until they have created a body of work to review. in art, style is subconscious. to me, style is depicted in the manner of brushstroke not subject matter. above are details of paintings by 3 artist. notice the distinct differences in appearance. 1st by david boyd, jr. 2nd two by jane whitehurst & final two by martin pate.
